    This is perfectly in keeping with the GOP strategy of telling voters, "DABGUM GUBMINT CAN'T DO NUTTIN' RIGHT NOHOW," and then going out and hiring government officials whose purpose is to be incompetent/destructive, so the GOP can say, "See, we told you so!"

    Der Pumpkinfuhrer is merely being more blatant and obvious about it than past administrations.

    @RosieG -- I may have focused a bit narrowly. I think the actual methodolgy is a mixture of indifference, hostility, and political manuevering.

    For example:

    Ben Carson -- Token N*gg*r to deflect racism claims and his competence is irrelevant

    James Mattis -- Mostly a PR bone to the "America...F**K YEAH!" crowd. Probably competent, but not exceptionally so

    Besty DeVos -- Chosen because she is ideologically opposed to public education.

    Other cabinet picks are a mixture of those three factors.
