I cannot believe this circle game of discontent.  If it isn't the politics, its the trolls and if it isn't the trolls it's the boredom of no good questions.  Remember that one comes next?

HOW COME THIS SITE IS SO BORING?  How many times have we had to put up with those malcontents?

If you don't like it people, ask your own interesting questions or go elsewhere.

  • Trolls, sniping, and the politics are largely one in the same.   Most of the "politics" questions are trolls sniping at people.  SOOOOOOOO...................

People have this notion that political talk is a form highly intellectual discourse and deep thought.  When that is a complete fallacy.   They are entirely subjective and one of the most base and shallow topics that people engage in.  As a topic it's no more intellectual or deep than  " Who's hot and who's not?" or " Why are attracted to this or attracted to that?"
Interesting and entertaining at times,   but deep thought it is not.

@Gils -- I beg to differ. Political discussions ARE interesting. They are essential proxy discussion about are deepest values: who are we as a society and what do we value?

What has happened here on AM recently, in my view, is a large proportion of the "political" questions are essentially variants of, "Trump sucks! Amiright?"

Even though I am sympathetic to the sentiment, I agree such "questions" become tiresome. I tend to ignore most of them unless I think they illustrate some larger political principle worthy of discussion.

True.  These aren't really true questions or political discussions.

Still the very topic of politics is still a subjective matter and a shallow subject.  Not that there is anything wrong with shallow subjects.   It's just that people have a notion that it is a  highly intellectual and deep topic to be discussed.   The reality is that it isn't.   It's very basic.  Always has been and always will be.  Kinda why it's usually been seen as distasteful by most to discuss them in public and at dinner tables.  It's not much different than talking about who you wanna screw and why.  People just want to pretend they are because nowadays people tend to define their very person on such basic and shallow things.   It gives them a sense of superiority over those that have a differing view point.  The more society falls into depravity and discord, the more this subject becomes central to people.

    Hello Glis,

I don't think it's deep thought either..  But, it IS about things that matter in your life, and you have a say in that..  You think what you say DOESN'T count.  I think what I say DOES..

  • Nothing matters except what we want to matter.
    Matters are mental constructs.

Mark Harmon and Tom Selleck are hot.  There is not enough room for who is not hot.
