Black and red. A little white trim is okay too, but white walls are atrocious and feel like an office IMHO. I also dislike bright colors and especially pastels and yellows. White and bright colors hide the shadows. Everything looks best in black and red.
Before the fire, my bedroom was black with a black ceiling, the door and trim were white. A lot of people thought it was weird, but it was actually pretty cool.
Ughhhh.. Yellow is just an all around disgusting color imho. I find bright colors in general to be uncomforting and distracting. Colors like yellow actually make me kinda anxious and stressed out.
LOL I agree Glis. If it were anybody else who painted the dumb kitchen walls a bright yellow I would have thrown a fit! :) But my dad was forgiven! He could do no wrong in my eyes... lol
Our kitchen was some shade of yellow that I've not seen since the 60s Sharonna. Poor dad didn't know what color anything he painted was. He was color-blind. ;)
I had a yellow bedroom in my house back home. I loved it. There are a thousand shades but I have always loved yellow. My first car was yellow (like a Yellow Cab). I wouldn't paint a bedroom that color. :)
LOL I see lots of people don't like yellow... well it's one of my favs.. bright, sunny, cheerful.. I have a particular shade of yellow in my bedroom, it's more a cream yellow, I love it so there.. Aside from that I like green, minty shades usually and i am very, very fond of blues and i have several shades of blue, all different around the house.
Right after my ex moved out, I got to repaint the whole inside of my house and choose all the colors on my own for the first time. Most of the house is called Silver Screen and I matched it with some almost navy focal walls. I LOVE it. The only thing I'm not happy with is the yellow I chose for my kitchen. It looks ok with the navy color, but not with the silver screen color. I think it was probably because I didn't pay attention to the undertones. I just picked a happy yellow and went with it.
