  • Over the centuries there have been so many.
The innovators -- from the person who invented the wheel to people like Tim Berners-Lee.
The explorers who opened up the world and will do the same with space.
The philosophers and scholars who taught us to think.
The founders of the religions who promoted their gods and gave us both theology and intolerance.
The statesmen from whom evolved the various politico-legal systems.

Yeah, an ugly, hunchbacked dwarf. His name was Charles Steinmetz and he created electrical equipment that is still used today to control the electrical grid of the world. If it wasn't for Steinmetz, you would have to shut your TV, refrigerator, desktop, and vibrator charger off.

  • The electrical grid is a stupid and inefficient system. It didn't make sense then and it doesn't now.   The only thing it does well is cost money, waste electricity, take up space and line the pockets of energy providers.

It's by far the worst way to electrify our households.

  • Edison was a proponent of grid distribution.   Just an even more inefficient DC system.

James Watt who patented the first practical, efficient steam engine which started the industrial revolution.  Oh, also Jesus.  Yeah, I forgot about him.

    Hello JA:

Human history goes back 100,000 years..  We've only recorded the last 5,000.  Lot's of stuff happened that wasn't attributed to anybody.

The guy who climbed down out of his tree and invited his friends to join him was pretty important..  He didn't have a name..  People weren't talking to each other then.
