Did you ever put out different pictures or items that were give as a gift when someone came to your house to visit?

Nah.  If I like it, it is out.  If I don't? It is not.

Nope.

Just a couple of times.  Someone crocheted an afghan for us which was not something we really liked.  But twice when I knew she was coming over I draped it over the back of a chair in the den.  It was during Winter.  I still have it and it has had holes which I bought yard and repaired last year.  It is now something I treasure because someone I loved made it for me out of love. 

Only as a kid when I was requested, told, to put on that beauuuutiful shirt your grandma got you, when of course grandma was coming to dinner.
