Is there a logical need for having a cold season?

And don't give me none of that distance from the sun garbage. Does winter actually serve any kind of benefit?

I was always told a good cold winter cut down on bugs in the summer.

I get bored easily.  I crave change.

I would hate the same temperature every day.  Move to Australia.  The mean Temp in Sidney is 75 degrees.

Yes.  It matters for roots and it kills off insects.  We don't get cold weather here and thankfully the insect problem is not bag.  I think that is from being on the ocean and away from the forrest.  Back home we had so many insects and mosquitoes in the Summer when we did 't have a long freezing spell in the preceding Winter.
