Seriously.I find this strange.

I didn't realize this nonsense still existed... this harboring umbrage at black people's wanting to celebrate their culture, but you are dead wrong about other races being encouraged to do so. The Latinos, etc are not encouraged anymore than blacks ever were. I remember my parents in the 60's getting all riled up because they thought black people were taking over. Martin Luther King was the devil, stirring up trouble. (for WHITE people, that is) So, I guess when Martin Luther King Day became a holiday, that really started the animosity. How dare they have such things as reminders of what evil racist jerks look like to everyone.
Then we have Black History Month. There is a lot about slavery remembered in that month, NO? Well, if you are white and guilty, who wants to be reminded?
If you are brown and Latino? They feel as slighted as you do, believe me.
I think you need to have a talk with the "brown" members of society, you seem to have no clue about. They will tell you how wonderful it is to be brown and Latino in America. I AM BEING SARCASTIC in case anyone misses this.
interesting
I don't care if you have a celebration of your culture. Or any other culture as long as everyone is non violent and non threatening.
Not exactly sure what you are talking about. What celebration/actions are you talking about?
major example: Black History month.
Can only speak for self, but I have no problem at all with people celebrating their culture; black, white, latino, asian or otherwise. Makes no difference to me at all.
I am white and I don't have a problem with Black History month.
i agree.
Have you experienced this personally?
Okay great. But surely you've heard the saying "what about white history month?" What do you think about those people who say that?
Yus
Le sigh. We come in all skin tones for you to question if black have a culture shows how much less you think about us. We have an identity. Idk why you don't think we do. Within the black communities all around the world there are different cultures within but we all have a shared and connected root to the continent African. When I am speaking of this topic I am mainly talking about black Americans from the US, Canada, South America and the carribean islands. Did you not know we had art, literature, music, doctors etc? Or did you think we just sat around acting lazy?
The only white people complaining about black people celebrating black history is/ the racist red-neck peckerwood trailer trash scum.
The rest of us don't even hardly notice color(s).
