I'm not 60 yet, I am over 50 and I still look more or less the same as I did when I was in my 40s. In other words, I hardly change from one year to the next.
Some people have been surprised when I told them I went to the Channel Islands on holiday in 1972, thinking I didn't look old enough to have been alive that long ago. What surprised them even more was the fact that 1972 was the second time I'd been on holiday to the Channel Islands, I first went there in 1967 and I was already 5 then. Lol:)
Oh that reminds me, going on holiday to the Isle of Wight circa 1974, my Dad driving from London to Portsmouth in a Vauxhall Viva with it's horrible plastic seats and being permanently car sick thanks in some considerable part to him smoking cigars like fags..
I've never been to either Portsmouth or the Isle of Wight. Two friends of mine who are brothers and quite a few years older than me told me they went to the IOW in 1970 to attend the rock festival there. It was one of the last gigs performed by the late great Jimi Hendrix, who passed away just 19 days later. It wasn't the first time those guys saw him live either, they went to see him at the Marquee in London in 1967. But I was only 5 then and still only 8 when Hendrix died, too young to truly appreciate his music when he was alive. :(
I like Hendrix, but I didn't have any of his records until I was 20. By the time I was 25 I had most of his albums. I now have them on CD, I listened to "Are You Experienced" (with 6 bonus tracks) to commemorate what would have been his 74th birthday (November 27th).
