Would you be a mom's helper nanny?

I'm unsure how I feel - an acquaintance of the family has a toddler that I help care for part time; she goes out for errands during that time. However now she need to watch her own nephew too , a ababy, and requesting I watch the toddler while she watches the baby-  she is so nice, and flexible, it is just sometimes when a nanny has the mom there all day, you feel much more 'on'-  I'm always engaging and teaching a child when parent is out, but I've read nannies say they don't like doing a mom helper b/c you are kind of with a 'boss' all day. She is very open and kind, but , I'm a huge people pleaser and feel I might be trying to talk all day with her, checking is this ok/not ok  etc... what would you do?

I wouldn't do it. It would drive me nuts. Not just the second-guessing myself, but kids tend to want their mom when she's home.

I tried to hire one once as well and it was a total flop. I work from home and her job was to keep the kids occupied so I could work without interruption. After the fourth time in an hour that one of the kids came to talk to me, I finally went to see what she was up to. She was just sitting on my sofa, playing around on her phone. Bah. I sent her home and that was that.

Thanks JA. I'm unsure if it is a one day deal only, or if it may be more. I help out her sister too, and am with her sister (who has one 2 yr. old) more... she is having a baby in spring, and I also wonder to continue or not  there.. she will be home for 3 months, and is very meticulous... ounces of bottle, gloves, exact napping routine, etc... and those are things I already know, so it is just a bit harder in the day to be either monitored  or told things you already know. (she is very kind too, I just wonder being with a mom all day , it's pros and cons)... she may need me when she goes back to work though, but I am just not sure I can do it w/a stay at home mom, I agree JA, I would also second guess myself... I'm so sorry she wasn't even saying, don't bother mom now !! Wow, 4 times in an hour,  after one I'd say, let's go do this puzzle/take walk etc... Ty so much for your advice
