The reason I am in the healing profession is so I have access to anything that keeps me away from any kind of pain.
Mental, physical, and you name it....
So, depression? I am never going there again no matter what. There is relief for each person. The trouble is most people are too depressed to look. I understand that one. Next time there is a glimmer of happy, remember this and look then.
I tried to prevent it --------- I got hold of a Christmas wish list for some young relatives ------- their parents are unemployed. In fact, they had no Thanksgiving dinner. (had we known, we had plenty of extra to share) Well, I spent more than ever this year----- but those kids had a Christmas, at least.
Had a lovely visit and dinner. Miss my BFF, however, he gave me sweet presents for Christmas and great memories of him standing by a tree on Christmas, smiling.

It's a mixed bag. Over all it was good. We had and will have good times with our daughters between now and New Year's but our son is estranged from us and everyone is a little sad about that. Also for some reason I missed my mother more than in the recent past. She died 50 years ago.
Since I don't celebrate December 25th, it doesn't affect me whatsoever. Yet statistics are that more people die from depression during this time of year than at any other time of the year.
