Yep.... A slap to both of them. Obama is on a roll first he stabbed Israel in the back then attacked Clinton and Trump at the same time.
I think he is upset things he did with his phone and pen are fixin' to go out the window.

It's so out of left field m2c! It actually SHOCKED me! Very little does that these days but this sure did. Go figger! Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday to thee! :) How did he stab Israel in the back? What president backs Israel building more settlements? Can you name one?

For the last 40 yrs US has vetoed anti Israeli resolutions. All presidents since before Israel's formation have had no problems with it considered them legal under the 1933 Olso rules until Carter decided to call them illegal. The international court said Israel has the most valid claim to the land and the other country with a possible valid claim is Jordan.
Reagan and other Pres have said not to expand only because it makes negotiations harder. Bush agreed to insure that Israel would not go back to 1967 borders but would have defendable borders. Reagan said something similar and that the settlements were not illegal but ill-advised for future negotiations.

  • I imagine it was both. Basically, his legacy is at stake. Clinton wanted to continue his policies but she lost. President-elect Donald Trump pretty much wants to wipe away much of his policies.

But doing it this way? It seems so out of character to me. Off the wall. It is self-serving and I can't see how it adds luster to his governing the last 8 years. It also seems very petty and entirely unnecessary and I guess I just did not expect that.  Braggadocio is unbecoming in anyone in my opinion.

  • There's been several things he's done that seem out of character for him. The only thing that comes to my mind is that he's a sore loser. These actions are a bit unbecoming in my opinion.

Obama wasn't running for anything so how could he lose? I think what he said was a lot more than "a bit unbecoming". It was very unseemly  and completely self-centered. While it may have been about his policies that Hillary pledged to continue that disappointed him it was the American people who lost in my opinion. The voters who supported Trump handed the most powerful job in the world to an evil despot like Trump  and that fact alone is beyond terrifying to me. It is a choice I shall never understand. I did not know I was surrounded by so many haters of America. Thank you for your reply DIR.

A trained monkey would have wiped the floor with both of them. That's not saying much. Something like half the people who voted this year only chose a candidate because they hated the other guy more. I have no idea why he said it, but he's probably right.

But it's so self-serving and bragging about something that we will never know absolutely. It just seems so out of character that it honestly shocked me JA. Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Wednesday! :)

Obama thought he was helping Hillary because of his own high ego of himself, ( like Trumps ) He supported Clinton only because she promised him she would continue with his policies, she was doomed at that point because that's exactly why Trump got the support he did because people were sick and tired of his policies.
Obama made it easy for her to fail, he said on national TV that she supports his policies and she confirmed it on TV. POLITICAL SUICIDE.! it was really that simple. remember the Democrats support ALL entitlements.no incentive to work for it. I also believe he meant to slap Hillary & Trump to let them know he is better than them, can't believe it was his policies.

I'm gonna figuratively smack you upside the head right off the bat. "...remember the Democrats support all entitlements, no incentive to work for it". So you know ALL Democrats then? How? Why would you make an unsupportable blanket statement like that Tom? How did it enhance your reply to the question I asked? It was egregious and really diminished the value of your reply. Now having gotten that off my chest this LIBERAL DEMOCRAT thinks it was braggadocio, self-serving and embarrassing on  Obama's part. I personally was shocked that Obama would say such a thing. It is unproveable of course  so it is merely opining and we all know how much value there is in that. I believe he will regret saying that. It only makes him look bad and does nothing to tarnish Clinton or Trump. In my opinion. Thank you for your reply kiddo. Next time leave out the unnecessary filler and just stick to the issue. OK. Now you can smack me back (figuratively). Go ahead. I dare ya! Thank you for your reply TomT.

    Hello Rosie:

I don't think he said HE would have won..  He said his POLICIES would have prevailed, and I agree with him.  Clearly, America agrees with him too.  More people voted for his policies than voted for Trumps..  That's just so.

Hillary ran a bad campaign..  That DOESN'T invalidate liberalism.  It invalidates the CLINTON'S.
