    She washed it and put a band aid on it ,sent me outside and told me to be more careful, no wimpy stuff.

    She painted it with Mecurochrome or Merthiolate which stung like crazy and turned my skin orange. It had to be a serious owie before I would show it to her. This post was edited by Jane S at December 28, 2016 4:43 PM MST

    I remember that stuff with the glass applicator.  Good stuff I guess; we didn't get infections from our scrapes.  I think we  had very strong immune systems from being outside playing all the time.  We were strong healthy kids.

    My dad would pour that awful hydrogen peroxide on it and it would sting and he would tell me that if I hate it so much I would stop horsing around.
