This ? I dont see how he should. It has been going on for ages in US politics. Dems > Reps > Dems > Reps. Obama himself was carried into office by the backlash after GWB.
But frankly I do not see Trump so much as backlash from Obama, more like the inevitable backlash from republican propaganda that have lost sight of the issues and have instead focused on rabble rousing. In doing that they created a voterbase for Trump to take over and use.
