If you drain a swamp, won't it just flood again?

    Nope.  It's a swamp because of its elevation being lower than its surroundings.  Yes, when there is rain it collects more surface water.  But it isn't considered a flood.  Wetlands are an important part of Earth's ecosystem. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at December 30, 2016 12:57 AM MST
