They do look good and that spiny thing can keep them good for decades because it's geared to spin at a speed that keeps the molecular structure of the Taquitos in-tacked. Cheers and Happy New Year!

I often wonder who even goes into those stores and why.

When traveling I go in when in when I guy gasoline and use the bathroom and sometimes buy coffee if they will make a fresh pot for me.  But in town?  Never.  Not once that I recall.

I used to work at one. People mainly wanted cigarettes and hot dogs. Kids wanted Slurpees and loved to make huge messes with their parents standing right there.

The owner was a "stickler" for cleanliness on an almost OCD level. Although she sometimes smoked IN the store. I doubt that would be allowed today. That's where I learned franchising was a scam and franchise owners are little tyrants controlled by bigger tyrants.

There was a constant fear that a "secret shopper" was always watching. Apparently the "parent" company loved to spy on their minions. Other stores would actually call saying they suspected a spy was in the area.

I also hate hot dogs now, not that I liked them much before. I hated when 20 construction workers would come in and want 5 hot dogs a piece and 5 gallons of soda.

The only good thing, was at the time the owner didn't want to sell lottery tickets. I don't know why. However, you can tell it is a huge hassel since these people go in and want many tickets in a particular way and it holds up the line. Also, I never worked over night when all the drunk people came in.

  • We don't have 7-Elevens here. We do--however--have a gas chain that sells something called tornados, which is like a taquito. They are truly yummy, but I try to stick to cheese filled and avoid the meat for obvious reasons.
