    Isnt "make you tougher/harder/colder/crueler/meaner" the same as "changing you for the bad" ?

    I thought I had corrected the question to read "better" not "bad". Do bad experiences ever change people for the better? That is the question I intended. I corrected it to read what I just told you but apparently it did not take. Can you answer the question as I intended it to be? It makes no sense as it stands currently.     Yes, that makes more sense :) And I know one example where it did change the person for the better. One of my mothers childhood schoolmates married a guy who was blind, he had been playing indians with friends and got an arrow in one eye, then it got infected so he lost both eyes :(
    A kinder gentler man I never met, and he was also incredibly intelligent.
