What make you a cat or dog person?

Dog person.   I just really like them and their ways.   Especially female dogs.   They tend to be more one person and their own dog more than the males.

They are just great buddies and have strong drives that I find complimentary.   I like having that buddy who's always wagging and whining to be involved in the next big adventure with ya'.  There's nothing better to me than walking through the woods with dog and watching dog run around with nose to the ground and investigating the forest or meadow floor.  Occasionally looking up to make sure you're still comin' along.

I like dogs, but prefer cats. They're independent, yet cuddly, and a little less maintenance than dogs.

I used to be a dog person.  Cats seemed so aloof.  Now that I have cats I am a dog and a cat person.
Cats really are special in their own way and just as attentive as dogs but in a different way. 

Both, but we can't have cats due to the wife's allergies and the dogs are limited to a low-shedding type.  

As for why, that's simple.  I find they add to life.

I have absolutely loved animals, my whole life. I am simply drawn to them.  Just got to love dogs from having my first one as a child.  Dogs are my favorite domesticated animal. I prefer animals over humans, any day. I like cats, too, but more my own, than other people's. If all cats'd stay indoors, I'd appreciate them more.  Have to love kittens. Have to.
