Would you rather it drizzle all day or downpour for an hour?

It may not rain every day but when it comes let it come.

  • "Drizzle" ... It gives the rainfall more time to soak in and less of it goes back to the sea.

Good point for the environment but do we need that? This post was edited by O-uknow at January 23, 2017 8:17 PM MST

  • It depends on where you are at.

  • I prefer torrential downpours with thunder and lightening.  It's more entertaining.   I'll take snow, lots of snow, over rain any day though. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at January 23, 2017 8:17 PM MST

Same here!  I am a weather nut, so a good storm is fascinating for me to watch.

Yes!  Well...I was in my home, but the wind was scary as heck.  I also remember a powerful derecho crossing the area one summer afternoon.  The sky turned green and black and then the wind hit.  We had huge trees down everywhere.  I thought it was a tornado, but the news explained what it was.  It crossed many states before even hitting us on the east coast.  Nature is amazing.

  • Yeah I was in a major one years ago on the river.  Our road lucked out being at the bottom of a cliff that kinds buffered the trees from the winds.   The rest of the area looked like a bomb hit though.

The one I remember was many, many years ago too.  I think it originated in Canada, hit the upper mid west, and then us in the northeast.  It was something I never forgot.  The lightning was constant, but you couldn't hear the thunder with the ferocious wind.  I never seen rain hit a window at a 90* angle before.

This one hit in 1980.  We had one a few years ago that was bad, but nothing like the first I witnessed.

It's been drizzling here for at least a week, almost every day.  It gets old.  I admit to like watching a big downpour more.

  • Given those choices I'd prefer the downpour. But what we've been having here lately (steady rain for several hours) is pretty nice.

Right now we are getting lots of rain and we really need it. A little drizzle won't help when we need so much.
