  • My joy comes from my better half, he's the bestest!

  • C.S.Lewis called his autobiography "Surprised by Joy" and it told of his quest for a feeling he experienced once (on the top deck of a London double-decker) as a young man and only several times during his life. It was a feeling so intense and (as he said) so suffused with the numinous, that it was worth dedicating his life to the possibility of experiencing it again.

Lewis chose the Christian path yet the same thing has been described by the mystics of other religions, and by the poets. It's a feeling that can lift you above virtually every other and, if you've ever had that good fortune, it's something you'll never forget.

And, in case you were going to ask the obvious question: Yes, but only once.
