  • Old style lantern mantles were radioactive.   Some discount brands still are. Most major brand companies switched from thorium to yttrium as the incandescent material.

    The MoD buried luminous aircraft dials under our beach after WW2. It's been radioactive ever since.

    After 20 years of campaigning they've promised to fix it,      someday.

    I'll believe it if I live to see it.
