Actually, me too Element 99. I've found others use it as a means of expressing how they feel. A very different approach than you or me. It's interesting how music plays a roll in people's lives. :) :)
BUT many times I've written parodies and, using those, I can certainly express myself through song. Don't ask for any lyrics -- most of them are either forgotten, or rude, or both.
And thanks for all those questions, Merlin. Enjoyed them.
Come on Didge~ Now you tempt me! I can definitely hear you writing a jingle or two. One commercial that comes to mind is: "Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don't. Almond Joy's got nuts. Mounds don't." Right there is a subliminal hit on your sexual physche. That was for 2 candy bars years ago. I could totally see you writing something fun like that!!
Besides, we all know it is in perception. If people don't see the humor or the fun in them, it is their loss!
Isaac Asimov was once co-opted to be a judge in a limerick writing contest for Carnation Milk. He and the other two judges all agreed on which was the best entry but also agreed that it would never be published:
No tits to twitch, no shit to pitch, just punch a hole in the sun of a bitch. Carnation!
HAAahahahahahaha! Now, that was funny! I think it would have sold just because it takes you by surprise!!! Don's definitely giggling over here!! Two thumbs up!!
"No, not now." ... but when I was a kid, I used to try writing lyrics to instrumentals I liked. This was one of the songs I messed around with. I wasn't very good at it.
