In respect of alternative facts it can never be ok cos the premise is on deluding, hookwinking and making susceptible, perhaps too trusting or weak minded people believe things that are not true. The intent is to deceive and to lie so that cannot be acceptable and should be stamped out.
Fake goods I take a less strong view on. they shouldn't say they are a brand if they aren't as that's a lie again but fake as in in the style of, or similar to aren't so bad.. they are often not as well made but as long as they aren't pretending to be real then it can make people happy that they can afford something that looks similar to the expensive ones. Of course I could be wrong about that?
