This upsets me because I am a nature & animal lover but

    The Badgermin

It is a Theramin (electronic musical instrument) affixed onto a badger's stuffed & posed body.

  • Poor old badger. Dunno what Mr Theremin would have thought of it. At least the guy is well dressed.

  • This is amazing! Not to long ago, I traveled to Luray Caverns and saw/heard this! It's truly a wonderous place and amazing to hear in the Caverns!

  • The Katzenklavier, or cat piano. Plingsby should LOVE this one.
Athanasius Kircher, a 17th-century German Jesuit scholar, documented some fantastical devices including the Katzenklavier ("cat piano"). It has a normal keyboard in front of a line of cages, each of which has a cat trapped inside. When a key is pressed, a nail is driven into the tail of one unfortunate feline, which naturally screeches.

  • You'd need big lungs to keep playing that. Never seen anything so big.
