Would you like the job of keeping the president safe and alive? Could you take the stress and be willing to put your life on the line? Why?

  • I think the Secret Service must have one of the most difficult jobs around. It's not just a matter of being willing to put your life on the line when things go wrong, it's the problem of being able to stay alert through one mind-numbing function after another. I take my hat off to anybody who can do that. It'd drive me nuts.

One of my nephews had that job for a few years. He was in the Secret Service and his detail was keeping the president safe. Of course my sister and brother-in-law were very nervous and wished he had chosen a different path. He did move on to something else and we all breathe easier because of it. He never talked about the job of course. Thank you for your reply Didge! :)
