    Hello Rosie:

I used to think right wingers didn't like SUBJECT of a march, and that's why they yelled about them..  But, now I think they just don't like marches PERIOD.  They said the Occupy people were dirty..  Now, the Black Lives Matter people are racist..

I wonder WHY these people don't understand the Constitution where it LAUDS protest..  How do they MISS that?

  • How is saying a group of lives matter racist? After seeing so many unessary unprovoked killings in said group? How is that racist? I would see some type of prejudice if we said black lives are better than white lives but we're not saying that we're saying we deserve to have a life on this planet too. Stop killing us.

I think I'd like to see his exact words, with full context, before giving my thoughts on this.

It isn't that I don't trust but really, I don't trust you. lol

    Hello F:

Yeah, I wanted to read them too.  So, two clicks later, I found LOTS of stories about Guilani and Bill O'Reilly saying that BLM is RACIST..  I wonder WHY you didn't do that.

excon. If the marches were white lives matter it would be called racist.

Twice as many whites are shot by police than blacks. Given the percentage of population it is argued that you would expect more whites being shot but if you look at the number of encounters with LE and then the number shot the picture is quite different.

I don't think the BLM people are racist but when you call for one race to be treated differently and exclude the other races then it appears to be one sided.

The news focuses on black people being shot because it generates stronger reactions. When a white or Asian person gets shot it is maybe ten seconds on the news five minutes into the broadcast.

    Hello d:

I was watching TWO cops being interviewed on TV - one white, and the other black.  They serve on the same force too.  The black cop has the "talk" with his sons about how to behave if they're stopped.  The white cop said he has the same conversation with his teenage children.  He absolutely did NOT acknowledge that a black teen is MORE at risk from a police stop than a white kid..

Sounds like you'd line up with the white cop. It doesn't mean one is racist, and the other is not..  It means they simply cannot FATHOM how it IS for the other side.

You are black then gcg? You understand the point? You realize that blacks have been treated as "less than" since forever and all the dialogue of racists trying to deny that is bullsh**? Thank you for your reply. I agree with EVERY WORD YOU WROTE! You are living it. How dare an old white man tell you what is racist? How dare he?  :(

I don't know. I know black cops and here there is no difference in how cops are perceived.

When I get pulled over in a car the first thing I do is shut the engine off then take my wallet and lay it on the dash then put my hands on the steering wheel. If the weather is good the window is down before the officer gets there if bad I wait till the officer is watching while I lower the window.

Works out best for both of us if I do not present a threat when they approach.

My children do the same. I don't remember a time when an officer shot someone inside the car here.

We just a few weeks ago had an officer killed by a driver in KCK. The whole community turned out in support of the PD. It was a white officer but most of the black community turned out in support.

Rudy Guilliani?  Really?  We CARE what that slime says now?

    He doesn't matter.  Period.

Black lives matter as much as white lives and blacks are being discriminated against SO YES RUDY, IT IS RACIST.  It should be.   It is calling OUT racists by throwing racism back in their prejudiced faces.

@d708 -- The "black folk just don't know how to behave when dealing with cops" deflection was bulls**t when LAPD chief Darryl Gates pulled it after the Rodney King Verdit riots and it's bulls**t when you pull it out now.

Your personal experience and wishful thinking do NOT obviate the large pile of evidence that police officers (of all ethnic backgrounds) treat African-Americans differently than light-skinned Americans.

It is only racist if it says "black lives matter but white lives don't". As it stands, "black lives matter" is not a racist statement by itself but it may be interpreted that way by certain people who think it means that white lives don't matter. However, I don't think that's what it is all about. I grabbed an excerpt from the article on the Internet. If you think the following article is racist, please explain why.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani stood by his recent comments Monday that the Black Lives Matter movement is "inherently racist."

"It's inherently racist because, number one, it divides us. ... All lives matter: White lives, black lives, all lives," he told Fox News on Monday. "Number two: Black Lives Matter never protests when every 14 hours somebody is killed in Chicago, probably 70-80% of the time (by) a black person. Where are they then? Where are they when a young black child is killed?"
Giuliani told CBS on Sunday that he thinks the activist movement, aimed at preventing violence toward the African-American community, exacerbated racial tensions by putting a target on the backs of police officers.

I'm sure he had no malice in mind but yes, by suggesting a color of skin makes it racist.

Since no one answered your statement here it is:

"It's inherently racist because, number one, it divides us. ... All lives matter: White lives, black lives, all lives," he told Fox News on Monday. "Number two: Black Lives Matter never protests when every 14 hours somebody is killed in Chicago, probably 70-80% of the time (by) a black person. Where are they then? No, it isn't racist. Not at all. This is the name of a movement to focus attention on the number of young black males who are being shot and killed without reason. Well, I guess white cops do have a reason. They don't have any respect or consideration for them. They don't matter to them. That is the reason the movement says "Black Lives Matter". They matter to other black and white people.

You can save the mind-reading attempts, if you were that interested in my actual position, you'd have posted the quote and asked my opinion. If you're looking for a non-starter fight of some sort, you can take that nonsense elsewhere.

It isn't my duty the vet the veracity of other peoples content. lol
