If all lives matter do you support the death penalty?

I don't support the death penalty.

I do not.  I was once a staunch supporter of the death penalty.  In college I did some in depth research into the criminal justice system that caused me concern as to the use of execution.  It isn't that I am opposed to it in theory, but in how it is applied.  I have since done more extensive research into our system, and I no longer support the use of execution.  

A quote I read sums it up, though I can no longer locate the source, so I will paraphrase it.

I cannot support the death penalty if it is administered on the basis of race.  I cannot support the death penalty if it is administered on the basis of class.  I cannot support the death penalty if it is administered on the basis of politics.  And even were it not administered on the basis of any of those factors, I still could not support the death penalty, because I do not trust our government, or society for that matter, to apply it correctly.  

For the most part, yes, lives matter. However, as with many things, there are exceptions to the rule. Take, for example the recent murders in Dallas of 5 innocent people. When trying to determine the appropriate measures to take, it was decided that the lives of multiple innocent people were far more valuable than the life of the person who caused their deaths. The loss of his life was well worth the price that was paid. So, while my initial opinion was to say all lives matter, there are certain instances that require re-measuring.

Meh, many of the people saying "all live matter" today don't mean it. They ONLY say it in response to "Black Lives Matter". And that's because even they know it would bad form to reply what they really think: 

"No, they don't".
