  • Not about me but this probably answers your question. 

    I was on a course in 1993 and one of our instructors was a crotchety old guy with a very dry sense of humour. The trouble was that some of the younger people weren't experienced enough to read him, and he had a reputation for being cranky.

    I came back from lunch one day to find a group of them backstabbing him so I said, "Well, personally, I like the old blank blank blank," and a voice from behind the white board where he had been setting up the afternoon session said, "That's very kind of you, Didge."

    There were some awfully red faces.

  • You only saw part of my answer. I used a naughty word and the rest of my post was deleted. I've fixed it now. It was pretty funny and the old guy enjoyed it too. It's lovely to see back-stabbers caught in the act.
