What exactly does NATO do? Should a 1949 alliance be re-vamped from top to bottom? Solidarity is only a word if not practiced.

Besides aiding in the coordination of offered military by 28 or so countries, (if at all) what has been accomplished since 9-11? It is certainly not in financial support, nor any substantial changes in recent world crisis. Few seem to even offer much intelligence information, unless targeted.

  • Ok, so you're in favor of Trumps wanting to dismantle it. You made your point. Unless you really don't know what NATO is for, in which case, unless you're just looking for validation, I don't think you're going to find the answer here.

  • My question asked, made no mention of Trump. I simply asked a question of NATO's purpose and accomplishments since 9-11. My expression of no financial support or a seemingly antiquated alliance is an observed opinion.  

    Nonetheless, I do appreciate your reply.

  • It outlived it's purpose.  It should have been dismantled back in the 90's but it's too late now.  It succeeded in recreating the threat it was originally intended to counter.
