Is such a thing possible? It's gotta be an oxymoron.
I read an article by a retired US general, published in an old (1937) general. He said, "There's a war coming but there's a way to stop it. The day the first shot is fired conscript every industrialist and banker. Don't send them off to fight, they'd be useless. Just put them on the same wage as a front-line soldier and there will be no war."
To support his idea he quoted the profits accrued during WWI. It's too long for me to recall them all but one, that stuck in my mind because the same sounded incongruous, was Bethlehem Steel.
