What if a cyber war shut down the Internet?

How long would it take to restore alternative communication? Which users would get priority? Medical? Military? Banking? Another?

  • Military would get priority for sure.

  • That was my thought also. Think of the havoc it would cause in medical services, though. They're all so interlinked that they (and we) would be particularly vulnerable. But the military would still get the top spot.

  • They would have to.  The chaos would need to be mitigated and if it were to happen it's almost certainly going to be as an act of warfare.   Medical services would be a high priority but that's another reason for military to have top billing,  the military is very capable and well readied for emergency medical assistance during disaster.
