Do you ever look at the "Alexa" ratings for websites? I see that this one is doing pretty well for it's size.

Answermug is doing well but I looked at blurtit.com and look how it's dropped!

  • I've looked at it a time or two, it doesn't surprise me that blurtit has dropped...

  • I've never heard of Alexa ratings before. What is it? It doesn't surprise me that Blurtit has dropped either. :)

Nope. Never did until now. I'm good as long as things seems running smoothly most of the time, and it does that here. :-)

How do we read them? We've been dropping low, or? I'm a bit confused by the scale going from 1.0M to 400k. Best is lowest or?

  • Looks like it's dropped some but the newest aren't out yet. Just like a regular graph scale.

    So lower number is better?

  • No, the higher number means more activity. It's went down some but will come back up in time. Look at blurtit's and see the gradual decline.

But what I don't get is the scale on the vertical axis, the higher the lower the number. Shouldn't it be the other way around? I take it's the number of views or something alike, or? Gah. This is math. My head is working. Oomph. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 24, 2017 7:52 AM MST

  • I agree with you Sapphi... it's either a reverse scale... or we're not reading it right

  • It's really easy to use. The peaks are the best performance and the lows show the lack of activity. Just Google Alexa rankings and type in Answermug.com and all the info is right there.

Grrr. I've been there! Confuses me. They yell all kind of nasty words at me like bounce rate. Jesus Christ, I'm a good girl and not doing stuff like that. Oomph.

Maybe it's the ranking they are talking about. Ugh. Hate how they ignore us. Harummph.

  • I'm not ignoring you. I did my best to explain but looking at it on Alexa works best and it's easy to see the ranking.

What is the scale telling on that axis? Ranking or views or what? Oomph.

  • Ranking. It is like a reverse scale but really isn't. Hard to explain but the numbers only are the rankings and the actual scale tells the actual usage.
