  • Kobayashi maru actually is genuine Japanese. "Kobayashi" is a Japanese surname. "Maru" literally means circle, but in this context is used in the name of ships (sort of like "spirit of Kobayashi"). For example, Komagata Maru was the name of a Japanese steamship: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Komagata_Maru This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 25, 2017 10:54 AM MST

  • Nevan B has given the perfect answer. The only thing I'll add, though it isn't really relevant, is that Chicken Teriyaki was the name of the only surviving Kamikaze pilot.

  • ........ and you know that because he's hiding in your refrigerator.  Right?

  • I know that because he was chicken.

But, yeah, I do like Japanese food. I don't even mind sushi though it's not among my favourites. (The Japanese company I worked for used to take us out for lunch a couple of times a year. Very nice!)
