    If we're lucky, that is the sequence! Sadly, some die before birth or die before maturity.

    As far as irreversible, I guess that's technically true, though there are ways to reverse the aging process to an extent. People who undertake significant lifestyle changes, for example. And there's always those people who seem to get more immature as they grow older. I'm sure you've run into some of those. ; )

    No not quite. The stages are
    Life. Birth. Youth. Aging. Death.
    Of course not everyone reaches all the stages. Sadly many don't even get to the birth stage.
