And scarface. He got a atTacked but one.otf the other dogs when he was a little pupereeno and he has a scar across he cheek.

  • The given name, of my last pet(dog), was "Ro-ala-Ken's Nartok of Keno."
I called him "Stormy."  In Eskimo ... Nartok = Stormy  (according to the kennel)

  • How often do people call your malamute a husky?

  • All the time, but it didn't bother me.  What I used to get a kick out of was how many neighborhood kids asked me if he was a wolf. I'd just shrug my shoulders like ... "i'm not sure."  There were some of those kids that gave him a wide berth! :)

  • Well partly.
It never bothered me either, but people  always say they can't believe how small my Husky mix is.  They all think huskies are big beefy dogs  because they think of malamutes.
Malamutes are way more loyal and calm compared to huskies. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at February 28, 2017 5:03 AM MST

  • I suppose a Husky mix would depend on the mix, but you're right, even Siberian Huskies (pure bred) are smaller than Malamutes.

  • Last weigh in she was 58 pounds which if she was pure bred would be the upper size for a normal husky. Part German Shepard but most people think she is a pure husky when they ask if she was a runt.

  • "Runt?" lol. I wouldn't let that bother you. My Malamute only got to 90 lbs., which is small for the breed, but I hadn't planned on showing him anyway so it didn't matter to me.

  • Doesn't bother me at all.  Just quirky for lack of a better word.

Hi Lago and Tony ~ That was a kick in the pants!  There are a variety of different nicknames our dogs have acquired through out their lifetimes.

Her given name was Lazer the Wonderdog of the Universe
    She answered to
    Lazy Lazer
    Stinky Butt
    Girly Girl
    Lovey
    Get out of the trash
    Lazer Wonder
    Wonderdog
    Lazer
She was a Dalmatian and had one blue eye and one brown eye.  Hence, her name "Lazer the wonderdog of the Universe"

Then there was Freebee.  He was a Beagle
He also answered to a variety of unique things attached to the back of "Freebee."  I'll let you fill in the blanks
    Escapee
    and surfin dude

There is Boneified  Beauty the Beautiful.  She is a white Standard Poodle
    she goes by
Bon Bon (since she is a poodle) A Big Poodle but a poodle none-the-less
    Bonnie

And Chance.  She was a pound puppy 1/2 German Shepard 1/2 Akita

  • Fantastic list Merlin, I grew.up.with Dalmatians, and at some point.one of them started to lose his hearing. So usually we had to.call his name twice.  He went from "D" to DeeDee" to "Triple D" )
I loved.the laser thing, very clever!).
