  • I might be too serious in some ways.

You see my answers here, Rosie, especially to your questions.

I state my views here quite often, and attempt to explain my reasoning.

I also read what others write and find it helps a bit to understand contrary views a little better.

In my home life, I follow the news, receive bulletins from activist organisations in my email, and volunteer with The Greens, the Caldera Environment Centre, and Landcare.

If serious people "rain on my parade" I don't object. I listen and think about it, and respond accordingly.

    I can easily be wrong.

I can be wrong and not know it.

That makes it incredibly important to be open to the thoughts and knowledge of others.

I like serious verbal engagement as well as the not so serious {Humorous & fun} Moderation and balance be-tween the two works for me. If people are all serious with no balance, yes they become annoying. But it doesn't rain on my parade, it's like eating the same piece of candy, if you get tired of that candy pick another flavor, lol.

  • It was in the nineteen sixties

That we opened up the door

For all mankind to live in peace

And to bring an end to war

    For the age of Aquarius

Had dawned so bright and clear

    As it heralded an era

Which would free the world of fear

We tried hard to stop the conflicts

    And atomic bombs to ban

As the cracks grew ever wider

    In the brotherhood of man

We placed our flowers in the rifles

And we wore them in our hair

As we rekindled flames of hope

    From the ashes of despair

But all the despots of the world

    Were consumed by evil greed

    As they lusted after power

And they watched our planet bleed

We really never stood a chance

    Up against their awesome might

    And Aquarius had faded

    Into everlasting night

We had knelt in silent prayer

    As above the missiles screamed

Then bid goodbye to all our hopes

And the love of which we dreamed

When at last it was all over

We had nothing left to show

But a trail of dying flowers

    And a thermonuclear glow

You see my responses to your replies m'dear. I appreciate the thought, care and comprehensive nature of your replies. You are not a slapdash person. You don't leave one-liners and move on. You allow me  inside your head and your heart and that is the only way one can ever get to understand others. I wish there were more folks like you to answers questions from folks like me. Thank you for yet another thoughtful, helpful, useful and personal answer hartfire! :)

Thank you for your reply BSurf. My default position is serious. I have always been that way since I can remember. Perhaps being the first born had something to do with it. I take responsibility very seriously. I react seriously. I don't lie. I say what I think. I appreciate those who don't lie and say what they think PROVIDING they don't insult me. That I do not tolerate from anyone. 24/7 serious people like me appreciate those who understand where I am coming from. I am not everyone's cuppa tea and everyone isn't mine. I think it balances out just fine . I don't remember Matt ever once chastising me for how I'm wired. He understood me and accepted me as-is. That's what friends do. I miss him very much.

I am serious 24/7. I always have been. I am the first-born and was always held up as an example to my younger sibling. I tried to be worthy of it. Thank you for your reply WW!  :)

I think right now I am serious answering this question. I was serious a few moments ago when I was watching a sultry mermaid eyes tutorial. Before that I seriously uploaded a Japanese song that I didn't know the meaning of onto Answermug videos. Sometimes I am serious, but I am a silly person.

I do not read or watch the news. I'm a very bad adult. I do not like to state my views when people get mad. I keep them secret, unless I feel like you can handle them. I am sensitive. I get hurt easily, which I know is very silly.

Serious people only annoy me when they are being silly. lol! Does that make sense?

Rosie Godmother of Answermug: you do not annoy me and you are a serious person <3

((hugs)) Thank you for that m'dear. I'm very glad I don't annoy you because there are a few people on Answermug that I seem to annoy no matter what kind of question I ask Sometimes I ask silly questions. Not very often. In fact very rarely. What I've noticed though is that the folks who don't like my questions (and obviously don't like me) always seem to make Every question I ask  political even when politics is not involved . They don't bother me though. I've learned to avoid them. I like to talk to folks who are thoughtful and who are willing to let me in on how their minds work which is what answering questions does. It gives insight into the person which  is always icing on the cake. The folks who do nothing but attack never reveal anything about themselves. They are less interesting to me because they tend to be very rigid and scripted. I guess I AM the old lady of  Answermug at 78.  Maybe Grandmother or Great Grandmother even. Fine with me. This is a very nice response softlywaking. I really enjoy talking to you! Happy Thursday! :) I absolutely disagree with thee though on one thing, You are NOT a very bad adult. I understand being cautious with whom you share your views. Some people can't handle them and when they're frustrated they attack. Now that is being a BAD adult! :)

No problem sweetie.  My real name is Rosemarie and my surname begins with a "G". I have been RosieG since I joined Answerbag in 2005. At one point I was invited to join the Jetpackers. They flew around the world doing good. But I had to decline since I have a fear of heights. They made me an Honorary Member so for years I was RosieGHMJetpacker. I left the HMJetpacker behind when Answerbag closed down December 15, 2015.  I am not sensitive about being old. It beats the alternative! Thank you for your additional comment  softlywaking! :)
