How did you choose your avatar?

Does it reflect who you are? How did it develop? Have you used it on another site?

  • Perhaps not quite the ugliest, Daydream. One of my chess opponents, from Uzbekistan, had one so ugly that I copied it and have used it on odd occasions.

With these sites being mostly USofA I chose the Canadian flag, Just to show I am different. Yes, I have used it on other sites. (Except November, when I use the poppy, for Remembrance Day)

I am a lover of music with 65 years of collecting and storing different genres of music.  I've used the same avatar on two different sites before Am.

I got the music symbols off of the net. This post was edited by Beans/SilentGeneration at March 1, 2017 4:55 AM MST

  • Nice one.

Last year I was at our local shopping mall and saw a rather large young woman with a musical staff, a treble clef, and a couple of crotchets and quavers tattooed across the tops of her breasts. She had nice skin and it looked good on her. But I couldn't help wondering if she put on much more weight would the tattoo expand into a full symphony.

  • Seeing as my name is "goofyhawk" I always like to find something that combines those two. You know as well as most that I love the Red Tailed Hawk. I found an awesome one of a hawk doing a "come at me bruh" style pose. Now, if there was a picture of a hawk drinking Mountain Dew, I'd be all over that one!

    Come at me, bruh!

  • That is one formidable bird, Corey. You could always photoshop in a bowl of Mountain Dew.

  • It's almost scriptural, Jakob. "Let your light so shine before men..."

I try to keep things simple.  I took a picture of my dog with his name as my AM identity.  I was only on one previous Q&A site a number of years ago and at that time, I used my pittie girl with her name as my online identity.

  • Mine is the emblem for the Dragonborn. It comes from my favorite video game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in which the playable character has the soul and blood of a dragon within him (or her if you choose a female). Who wouldn't want to be born with the soul of a dragon? Gaming shows my nerd side. As a plus, my glasses also show my nerd side so I'm good to go! :P

  • No, I haven't, Didge. I'm not the biggest reader but I have the feeling I may want to start now. :)
