Do celebrities make bad politicians because they want to be loved and can't make the tough decisions that may make them HATED?

Donald Trump is a good exception. He has more than enough love for himself to make up for what he doesn't get from anyone else.

  • Depends on the type of celebrity and on their qualifications for the job. In my experience ALL politicians want to be popular -- it's the only way they can get votes and THAT is the only way they can stay in office.

I stepped into a lift in a big Sydney office building one day when three men followed me in. I glanced at them, then did a double take, and looked back to the front. The guy was one of the most controversial politicians in the country who was then under investigation by various agencies. He had two minders with him. As soon as he saw that I had recognised him he started a conversation. They just love to be loved.

Celebs will be as anyone else. Good and bad at this. It's about their character. I don't agree in Trump being a good example as he is way too much focused on how he thinks we should see him. Actually one of the worst celebs ever who made it into politics. Hmm. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at March 3, 2017 7:51 AM MST
