    Really? If you had amnesia you wouldn't know whom you were, what you did, who your family/friends were, what your likes/dislikes were. You wouldn't recognize  your surroundings or any landmarks. You would be a stranger in a strange land. You would be in an unknown place surrounded by complete strangers. You would be a blank sheet of paper with nothing written there on. So you still say that memory doesn't define you? What would? How could you access a YOU that you had no knowledge of? Where would you start?   • if they know who you are I suspect they try and revive your memory by going over who you really are and things you have done. if they don't know you, I guess they try to give you anew identity and make that the new you and maybe new and improved.

    It would sort of be a blessing for me. Some of the memories I have I'd rather forget anyway.
