What is the most sad song you've ever heard and could never forget?

Thank you all for some great songs. One thing for sure, music can be a very powerful connection to our inner feelings. Many I had forgotten, so enjoyed a trip down memory lane.

This is a killer if you are saying good-bye to anyone in your life.  I cry every time I hear it.

It's a toss up.
Dog and Butterfly was one that hit me pretty hard when I was growing up.

But as a got older I think there are still two.

Harry Chapin's Cat's in the Cradle
and
Don McLean's American Pie

All of these songs, to this day, bring tears to my eyes.  Even thinking about them do!

dont know that its the saddest song ive heard...there are alot...but i like it alot.







lol...almost embarrassed that i even know this song..but i listen to some of everything.
