Discussion»Questions»Food and Drink» What would you do if you invited people over for dinner and one took more then their share and left some others without?
Oh, I am a good cook, I can dish out something else in a jiffy....most of the time, diners at my place eat more than they want to, that's why I always cook extra;))
Sounds a little bit like the Dunning-Kruger effect (which I recently learned about right here on aMug), where something really obvious to some people, so they assume others are going to understand it naturally...
In the apartment where I live now, one neighbor offered to arrange a birthday party...except she purposely omitted the birthday cake, as unnecessary! So another neighbor rushed out last minute found a cake... But then we left the cake unguarded, whereupon the "arranger" promptly gave leftovers away to folks of her own choosing, saying the birthday person didn't need any cake!
* * * Our solution...we know the severe childhood trauma history of the "arranger," and every time something like this happens we just watch out for her ever more carefully, and intercept her, always politely and in a way she hopefully does not even notice.
