It's like when some urban Canadians say Americans are gun crazy when individual gun ownership is similarly high in Canada and some of their gun laws are looser than ours. Key word is SOME. Same when some will say Canadians can't have handguns or can only have hunting guns. Again, not true. There are several military arms that are flat out illegal or need FFA titles and have to been put into civilian hands before a certain date.
Sure the US has more guns per capita but that's due to the people who have large collections of them. Now this isn't saying USA doesn't have a problem that Canada doesn't ( at least to our extent) so don't twist it.
I love you Canada. Dare I say it, maybe even have a little envy at times.
im from a city in Metro Vancouver and there is always crap on the news about people being shot up and killed.. the other day, a 16 year old shot a 20 something year old.. the 20 year old who got shot- his car crashed into a mcdonalds sign. right outside my parents doorstep.
I get CBC and CTV here and I've seen as few reports on The National and Canadian news that there has been upswings of violent and gun crime in Vancouver in recent years. It sounds like Calgary is seeing some increase too.
How it compares to the US I can't say. I'd assume it is still much lower, but uneducated guess.
I have never heard of Canadians being more polite than people of other countries. Whether they are or not has no bearing on people in the US being fat.
