    I don't think it reduces the symbolism.  Less patriotic?  Well, it's possible if you are someone who believes we should buy American on all our goods.  For me, I'm not sure how I feel. I do go out of my way to buy American when I can.  But, if the quality is the same, yet the price makes it prohibitive for me to buy American, then I go the way my budget tells me to.  So, if someone believes that makes me less patriotic, I guess label me guilty as charged.
