People might do it to hide something from those they don't want to have access. Perhaps only friends have access? Are you their friend?

No, not really but I was just curious why? I don't care if people read my discussions or answers and I don't think you care either. I just understand it.
I've noticed a couple here and both belonged tdo people who like sniping at others. Perhaps they think that protects them from identification but, as you pointed out, there's not much info in them anyway and what's there might be totally fictional.
Take my profile, for instance. I'm really a 25 year old spunk who made my first billion in a dot.com company and I drive a Ferrari. I had to borrow my grandfather's photograph to hold off the hordes of women who want to marry me.
I was here in morning .... Then went shopping .... Then started watching show called Narcos .... Then I had a meltdown cos I kept forgetting to read the sub titles .... Then I went to sleep :) I had exciting Sunday :p
Most likely jealous :) lol thinking may be my phone cos memory full ... Even my typing lags now .... I'm due for upgrade so new phone will be free ... But I love my phone so much :( even home button doesn't work but I keep it ... I may have to let it go ... Meh :(
TAKE OFF YOU HOSER:ppppp lol :) real reason I did was cos I thought it would stop random people not on friends list be able chat at me. It didn't work so I just yelled at random weirdos till they took off eh :p
