You want fans? You can have mine if I have any. I just want to keep good friends. Fans and haters are free to lieve. As for other side, AB? I don't care. Never was part of it.
Don't you think I'd be a little less silly if I really cared?
I would just like to make some good friends that I could actually keep, I've just not been a very good friend I guess.
I like the idea of having friends that don't require too much attention, like if I don't interact with them for a while they don't just disappear.
I, and probably everyone else in the world, love people but I just cannot manage to talk to everyone I care about all the time and some people feel neglected and move along. My close friends I can not see for months and it is like nothing has changed.
Again, your authoritī is absolutely on track. These temporary fans, and haters too, are essential when one is to be anywhere near successful in her/his own venture though. I couldn't possibly be friends with everyone I want to read my articles, because I want about seven billion people to read what I write. I can not possibly be friends with every customer I do service work for and make a living, so I guess I really do want fans now that I think about it, but I cannot change myself to be liked by everyone.
As you noted, friends (and good friends are the only kind imo) are what is truly important. A good group of friends can and will help a person achieve almost anything. I have very few haters, but my goodness, how they linger.
Yes, I guess I will take your fans if you don't mind. Can you convince them I am your clone?
Were you part of another answer/question site before you came here?
I loved answerbag even with all the phonies and whatnot. I was a member there for less than a year if I recall correctly when I started this site and I just thought how amazing it would be to actually make money being silly, so answermug was born...then I couldn't be silly...there were spammers and really totally mean people coming and going, making false accusations. Technical issues and all that as well.
That's why my new site is about a specific topic and I'm not reliant on members for content. It will take a while to have enough articles written to promote it, but it would be nice to have a few hundred million fans to visit it every year once it's done.
Getting people's attention away from their regular sites on the internet is quite a task and I think I need fans for it, not necessarily fans of mine but fans of the site.
If I had a whole team of developers and marketers, it would be fairly simple but it is just Karen and me for now, writing and writing and writing. Anyway, I rambled on too long. Just realized I stayed up all night, it's 6 am here, doing nothing. It's been great. :)
You can always ramble here. I don't mind. To me the interesting part is what people can bring. I make my silly questions. Some of them will actually be serious, not sure everyone will notice when and when not. It doesn't matter as everyone is contributing with what they got. The real interesting thing is to see how the same (are they fans then? Maybe you can't have them but we can share, yours and mine?) people respond across all the questions. Over time I get a picture of at least a part of their person. Now who is rambling now?
It's great you gave yourself some time off.
As for site I came from, I will be one from the EP wave. I had my one year day about a week ago. The Mug has become my online home. I got friends and family. Like you, I have realized friends come and go. I've lost all the friends I came over with. I only know one here at the Mug who I already knew a little from back on EP. I'm a Mugger. I do not miss the drama we had at EP. I could just go to Similar Worlds if I wanted. There have already been a stalker there inquiring on my whereabouts. Yus. I could have it all back. Sheesh.
Now where am I, did I get back on all parts? You will tap me if not, yes?
Hey SapphicHeart, I fell asleep sometime during something...and need to go back to sleep without a computer on my chest and light in my face lol. Silly questions are my favorite, as they show creativity among a person. Anyone can look up answers to most anything serious pretty quickly nowadays but this was always meant to have more of a social feel to it, and I think JA still likes keeping it that way. Having the so[called 'cold hard facts' makes for a boring group of people, it's like sitting in a courtroom, but throw a clown in the courtroom and suddenly everyone lightens up.
I'd be delighted to share fans with you, maybe they'll not mind being passed around like Barbie dolls at a Junior High slumber party.
I am off most all the time now I think about it, weyyyy off.
Idk why I thought you were an ex-bagger. Seems like I know you. I was a member of EP but not active. Only went there a couple times to defend the name of answermug as well as my own name. A lot of lies were circulating, of course those that knew me and knew the liars, knew it was propaganda. It wasn't that I didn't like EP, I just had this going on and I've had a few sites suspend me because I was 'taking their members' but it was never a significant quantity and I never twisted an arm. I did ask Just Asking from AB to migrate during one of their major glitches. I think the mug was a couple years old then.
The main purpose for here was to have a place that ran more glitch free and was more orderly, yet gave individuals who care about the site more freedom. I did partially evacuate this place because of drama, nothing major, just someone I didn't want to deal with at the time. I like people who are easy to get along with.
There were of course initial complaints about the layout, just as there is with every site. The old platform was ranked along with Yahoo Answers on wikihow as the two easiest QA sites to navigate even though it lacked features we needed. We were mentioned on Wikipedia in the answermug article. I guess whoever is running that show took us out of the article. As a Wikipedia editor, I might have to correct that. answerbag's article on there is terrible and needs a lot of editing. I was hoping to see this site big enough and influential enough to have it's own article there. Like I said, it's Just Asking's baby, but my little baby just needed a mother. We just didn't have the money back then to throw into a complete overhaul, yet answermug has done okay although I'd hoped it was going to grow a lot faster after AB and EP members migrated here. The active members are what keeps it going though. I no longer have any affiliation here and Just Asking does as she sees best. When I was the leader, I had three moderators who did everything pretty much. We had a pretty good and diverse team but for whatever reason JA has a new team now I guess. She has put a lot of time and effort into this and I do hope it continues to grow.
I am glad you are now a Mugger. We are the best, regardless of what they say down at the local Police Station.
I always take time to read messages and alerts from the kind people like yourself, just as you seem to. To me, that personal interaction is what makes a site great. Real users like us are much better than the fakes used on so many sites. I know they do this for financial reasons but Just Asking and everyone I worked with on this wanted to keep it real. We weren't opposed to making money but quality and personalization were to come first. I had offers for minor financial backing and even a fairly sizeable ad contract at one time but the ad was not in-line with what I thought was right and so I politely told the corporation no.
You are good to ramble to; You know? Not a lot of people can keep up with all this rambling. I think I've got Ramblin Fever.
Yes Ma'am, I'll tap you if you get out of line and I do believe you responded to all. I'm about to sleepy to tell.
I'm serious about the Mexican Food with you tho, it's on the bucket list now, gotta be done. I'll buy and we'll get pictures with real live Mexicans!

Lolz. Figured the nappy thing thing. Is bad with puter on chest and lights on though. Not that I can claim never been drifting off. Ahem. Makes one look so rude if in the middle of a chat. Different when inside questions as here.
JA has the team she has. Guess out of lots of reasons. They do alright most of time although I don't agree all the time. JA will know as I tend to stand up if I feel an injustice. Bad habit of me which has cost me a few haters. Guess it's their loss. Luckily JA has got used to me during my year here, and she is one of the reasons I consider this my home. Phew.
EP was what it was. Most of all the bigger difference is traffic. With traffic other stuffs increases too. I can't say I miss these other stuff. Had my share, and I am on retirement from all over drama. Some Q&A sites strive for it, I prefer the fun and laid back more however. I can't say why you thought I was from AB. I've heard before I reminded about some others had met before. At least three times now, with you. How original does that make me?
Dang, are we going to make essays each time we respond to each other now? Haha.
I noted the Mexican food. I will let you know should I ever get over the Atlantic. Guess only time will show. Until then, it's on your list. ;-)
I never could be a moderator, I actually had my moderator's suspend me once when I owned the site to make a point. There have to be rules.
I could build a boat from scrap and come pick you up. There is a documentary, I think it is just called Papa Neutrino, but he did just that, sailed all the way across the Atlantic on a boat made from scrap.
A site like this that takes on virtually all subjects is a great deal to handle with all the different personalities.
You are quite original, someone I think maybe had a similar name, but I would have know you if you were on AB. I was in the top 10 of most questions asked at one time even though I joined fairly late in the site's life.
I like to write, so you might get a few more essays from me.
You're most welcome writing essays. I never minded reading interesting stories. :-)
Variety is the key to keep a site like this interesting. I give my little contribution, a few others theirs. Hopefully we will have more and more post a few questions during the week. Voila, the question board will show diversity and be fun running through to find the questions we like to engage ourselves with. People will interact and have interesting/fun/learning experiences. Yus.
and I'm thankful for that Glis. or otherwise I'd have been dead 12 years or so ago and I think he'd be more in the thousands of fans. As far as I know though Willie Nelson is still alive and probably around 85, see what all that pot has done to him?. He lived on Maui when I did about nine years ago.
I'm surrounded by country music greats in this town and believe it or not, I never was much of a Waylon Jennings fan. The last few years of his life I did get to hear him in interviews on one of my favorite radio stations, he seemed like a great guy.
Are you a country music fan? I don't meet a lot online.
