Dear JG, since you asked, and just for you, here is my current working theory on Good Friday...
As much as Christianity has stuffed it up with their interpretation, I do think both the crucifixion and the resurrection are literally true, factual, yes they did happen, not alternative facts.
* * * I am intrigued by William Blake (1757-1827) here, the British poet and mystic...whose insight is that Yeshua ben Joseph should never have allowed himself to be crucified, a mistake that happened only because the Christ was not yet fully in a state of Oneness (with God if you will).
That makes sense to me; resurrections are not all that rare, nor difficult, any good yogi can rearrange atoms to restore life in him/herself or others. However, they are tremendous teaching tools because humankind is so terrified of death; prolly happen once in a generation, or so? Although the last one I know of, well documented, happened in the 1930's...I am not too interested and so don't really keep track...
However, to focus on a crucifixion/resurrection trivializes the splendor of a being like Yeshua ben Joseph.
Just what we need...the absurdity of the LDS. A good reason why we should be able to ridicule someone's (ahemmmm and I say this very very loosely)... faith
