    I've been to Quito twice and loved every minute of that trip.  On one of those trips, we spent a weekend in Puerto Lago which was absolutely beautiful and on the second trip, we spent a weekend in Guayaquil.  It was too hot and muggy there and there was also some kind of holiday and the place was jammed.  I would go back in a heartbeat.

    Glad to hear that Spunky.  We are in Otavalo north of Quito for six weeks. It's beautiful here but has been raining a lot this week.
