Mole removal generally isn't about vanity. It's done for concerns over cancer. So, yes, insurance should pay for it.

  • Just tell them it causes you pain. That's what my friend had to do to have hers removed.

  • I think so, yet having said that... cheap, alternative methods are readily available for under a buck

  • If it's related to cancer. Not just because one thinks it's ugly.

If it's done for cosmetic purposes only, no insurance should not pay for it.  If the dermatologist does a biposy and it's determined to be pre-cancerous or cancerous, then insurance will pay for the removal.

    Hello again:

I knew a guy who had a dark bluish mole on HALF his face.  I don't care whether it's cancer or not..  That mole was RUINING his life, and I think it should be removed, and I think his insurance should pay for it..

  • I knew a guy who had a mole that looked like a raisin on the corner of his nostril.   I couldn't go out to eat with him because it ruined my appetite and because I was afraid it was going to fall off into my food. For real. It looked like a bloated tick

Most policies cover skin growth removals for medical reasons, not for cosmetic reasons.
