Your bust your arse/go to a lot of trouble to get the person you want elected. Don't you wanna make sure it's someone you can manipulate?

I am interested in electing someone whose judgment I respect (which is the main reason I did not vote for Trump).  I want the person whom I elect to represent my interests because those interests are appropriate---not just because they are mine.
