Today (April 25th), Australia and New Zealand recognise Anzac Day. Does your nation celebrate a catastrophic military defeat?

They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old.

  • The closest thing we have is Memorial Day.  It kind could be said it was devised out of a military defeat since the day as we know it today is the merging the Union Norths decoration day with the ex-Confederate South's  Confederate Memorial day.  The there is Veterans day that would be our WW1 observance holiday.
