Just how long do you think Trump could survive without being in front of a camera having microphones thrust at him? A news blackout would destroy him. No more being on the cover of Time magazine. No more newspaper articles. No nothing. No interviews. No photo ops. That would be a disaster of the first order when what he thrives on/survives on/craves like a junkie craves drugs disappears completely. ATTENTION! He could hold all the rallies he wanted to hold every day, every night and if no one covered them or photographed them and he couldn't see/hear himself on news programs nightly what do you think would happen to the man?
